Characterization for Novel Biotherapeutics

Workflows, Strategies, and Technologies for Analyzing Emerging Protein Modalities

May 13-14, 2027

Rapid innovation in protein engineering is driving an explosion of new antibody and protein formats—from bispecifics and T cell engagers to Fc-engineered antibodies, alternative antibody scaffolds, and engineered enzyme therapeutics, alongside next-generation antibody-drug, oligonucleotide, and radionuclide conjugates. The Characterization for Novel Biotherapeutics conference will spotlight the analytical strategies, regulatory expectations, and quality frameworks needed to evaluate these complex products. Sessions will explore chain-pairing and mispairing analytics for bispecific and multispecific formats, effector function and half-life characterization for engineered Fc and fusion proteins, and advances in linker, payload, and conjugation-site characterization for emerging antibody conjugates. Attendees will also gain insight into strategies for building a characterization approach from scratch on molecules that don't fit any established format. This program offers a comprehensive look at how cutting-edge analytics are enabling the next generation of protein therapeutics to reach patients safely and efficiently.

Coverage will include, but is not limited to:

  • Alternative & Non-Standard Antibody Formats
  • Bispecifics and Multispecifics
  • Characterization Strategies for Undefined & First-in-Class Protein Formats
  • Engineered Fc Formats
  • Enzyme Replacement & Engineered Enzyme Therapeutics
  • Fusion, Heterodimeric & Cytokine-Based Formats
  • New and Novel Antibody Conjugates
  • T Cell Engagers

The deadline for priority consideration is October 23, 2026.

All proposals are subject to review by session chairpersons and/or the Scientific Advisory Committee to ensure the overall quality of the conference program. Additionally, as per Cambridge Healthtech Institute’s policy, a select number of vendors and consultants who provide products and services will be offered opportunities for podium presentation slots based on a variety of Corporate Sponsorships.
